On January 30th 2012, BMC Software has announced
the signing of a definitive agreement for the acquisition of Numara
Software.
With this acquisition BMC demonstrates a clear
commitment for the mid-market with 500-5000 employees and greatly
expands the previous BMC IT Management Portfolio.
BMC defines its future IT Management Portfolio
for the Small & Medium Enterprises with FootPrints, RemedyForce.com
as the fastest growing SaaS service management, ProactiveNet network
management as part of BMC BladeLogic Automation Suite, BMC Atrium
discovery and dependency mapping and BMC end user experience
management. With Track-IT, a help desk with integrated inventory
management functionality, BMC supports the small business area.
The acquisition of Numara provides our BMC
Service Desk Express customers with an upgrade path to an even
broader range of built-in functions like Patch Management, Inventory
Management, Compliancy, Service Catalog and more. BMC FootPrints
already includes some Business Service Management functionality out
of the box with possibilities to expand with BMC ADDM, BMC End user
experience and other valuable BMC solutions. With this IT
Management Portfolio BMC brings Business Service Management (BSM)
into the small and medium market space.
